The ‘españa’ trademark is consolidated by support from Spain’s leading children’s wear and babycare

The ‘españa’ trademark, an ASEPRI (Spanish Manufacturers Association of Children’s Products) driven project, is consolidating itself thanks to support from the leading children’s fashion and babycare product companies in Spain who have joined this initiative. 

With the aim of publicising this project and bringing in the rest of the sector (sales agents, points of sale and manufacturers), the ‘españa trademark is present at the 70th Edition of FIMI and the 22nd Edition of the ‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair, events taking place at the Valencia Fair from 22 to 24 January. 

At these shows, the ‘españa’ trademark is symbolising the tie between Spanish babycare products and children’s fashion by means of a 12 metre catwalk joining the two shows; a clear reference to its backing of the trademark. 

Under the slogan “Spanish brands are taking the plunge and we want you with us. You are part of this project”, the ‘españa’ trademark is inviting visitors to join this ambitious project, sure in the knowledge that joining forces is the way to build a future of excellence and advance the prosperity of Spanish industry in the sector.  

With this in mind, in 2010 ‘españa’ is launching an ambitious marketing and communication campaign aimed at points of sale, sales agents and the end consumer, the aim being to get them to take part in this initiative and back the quality and prestige of Spanish products. 

Among the actions planned for this campaign are promotion and marketing in over 600 national points of sale, promotion at the sector’s most important international fairs, launch of the ‘españatrademark magazine, and communication and publicity activities. 

The ‘españa’ trademark is ASEPRI’s latest initiative in its commitment to backing the values promoted by Spanish children’s fashion and babycare product companies - quality, innovation, safety and design - to increase sector prosperity and guarantee it a leading position in the new panoramas opening up in the market.

The initiative seeks to strengthen the distribution channel, consolidate and maximise the sales profitability of affiliated Spanish brands, and win consumer trust so that they buy Spanish brand products, confident that they are of the highest quality and safety standards and designed specifically to meet childcare needs.

Likewise, the ‘españa’ trademark positions the sector’s products as leaders in the national and international market; these products already head the European market through their exports which expanded across the EU in 2008, as shown by the latest ASEPRI turnover figures

Specifically, 92.9% of affiliated companies selling to international markets did so through exports to other European countries. Moreover, Spanish products are gradually making inroads into other markets such as the USA, and emerging markets such as Russia and Poland.

The ‘españa’ trademark project is supported by the Regional Department of Industry, Trade and Innovation through IMPIVA (Valencian Institute of Small and Medium-sized Industry) and co-financed by the ERDF and IVEX (Valencian Exports Institute).
